Hotel Review: Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort

Few things make me sing, “California, here we come,” more than driving up the 101 to Santa Barbara. The ocean views, swaying palm trees and blue skies will draw you in, but staying at a place like the Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort really seals the deal and makes you never want to leave this beautiful coastal town.

I enjoyed this hotel so much, I went one weekend with friends as part of a girls’ trip, and then again the following weekend on a romantic getaway with my husband! Here are some of the many reasons why this hotel was worth two weekends in a row:

Walking into the Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort, it immediately stands out how nice, quick and professional everyone is. At the same time, the beach town vibes really come through, and nothing ever feels rushed. This hotel is the perfect blend of oceanfront leisure and fine luxury.

Personally, I think this hotel is in the perfect spot. It’s removed enough from the hustle and bustle for you to feel completely relaxed by the pool or by the beach, yet it’s walking distance to Santa Barbara’s main downtown area (State Street) and easily accessible. Plus, there are beautiful paths to both stroll and ride bikes along!

I’ve had the good fortune of staying in two different rooms here, both with ocean views. The first room we stayed in was a suite, which was perfect for me and my girlfriends as we had the freedom to stay up late chatting or crash early if we were tired from a long day of fun. The suite also had two separate balconies, which was the coolest thing ever! Not to mention, the most incredible rain shower.

My husband and I stayed in a smaller, cozier room that was perfect for our getaway for our 2-year wedding anniversary. We also enjoyed a beautiful ocean view from our balcony!

You could easily stay in the resort for all your meals and never leave. The Roundhouse hosts a delicious breakfast buffet that we dined at each morning to start our day. Java del Mar is the in-house café that brews Starbucks coffee, and is a great place to grab a quick cup and go. The Fess Parker Wine Tasting Room is a lovely place to relax with friends or a loved one and sip wine together. The Set is a full-service bar that also had delicious food, and sitting by the fire pits in their outdoor seating area is a perfect way to enjoy a balmy California evening.

In general as well, the resort was also very good about servicing dietary restrictions!

The Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort has a beautiful pool, spa, salon, fitness room, tennis court, gift shop and bikes for rental to explore Santa Barbara!

For a classic Santa Barbara experience that’s both close to the calm beach and busting downtown area, you can’t do better than this. The Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort surpassed all our expectations, and made for two incredibly enjoyable stays!
