Navy Blue Floral Print Dress

My wardrobe is primarily dresses, which is one reason I love summer.  I love feeling flowy, floral and feminine, and let’s be honest – it’s a LOT quicker to throw on a dress than figure out how to match a top with bottoms sometimes.

At the same time, I love being active.  Especially when traveling, where I want to be exploring/hiking/climbing/sailing/etc.  On my crazy 24-hour trip to Toronto (which you can find here), my husband suggested we ride bikes from the city to High Park and back (roughly 7 miles/12 km).  Naturally, I wanted to wear a pretty dress that wouldn’t cause me any grief while biking.  This dress from Lulus did not disappoint!

I don’t have any photos from our bike ride (because camera + bike = falling all over the place), but we did make a pit stop halfway through to enjoy the view of the water.

I love this dress because it’s lightweight and breezy while still falling down to my knees.  I paired it with slightly heeled brown sandals (also from Lulus), and ended up with a very cute outfit that I could also run all over the city in without fear of fashion mishaps or blisters.

This dress also has a very cute cutout back, which adds some stylistic flair.

Topped the outfit off with my favorite polarized pink sunglasses from SojoS, and I was set!

It was a very pleasant day biking and walking along the Toronto waterfront.  That is, until I sat on the grass somewhere and a giant, fuzzy caterpillar decided to hitch a ride on my outfit (did not notice until we got back to check out at our hotel, and it DEFINITELY elicited a reaction from me).

So there you have it!  Happy August, and hope you’re having a lovely summer!!!
