One of the most unforgettable stays of our trip, complete with a private hot tub and lovely breakfast in the morning. We also found ourselves a quick drive away from a lot of iconic hikes, castles and locations like the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct.

@yoridocoro #カフェヨリドコロ is well known for these train views and the experience of hand-whipping your own egg whites! You can watch the famous Enoden Line go by while eating a delicious breakfast.

🪑 We reserved these train view seats in advance (¥1,000/person), and tried a dried horse mackerel set (¥1,980) and a ajimirin dried fish set (¥1,980).

I love a good remote Japanese island, and these two are some of my favorites ❤️

Rishiri Island (利尻島) and Rebun Island (礼文島) are two islands off the coast of Wakkanai, Hokkaido (and Japan)’s northernmost town (seriously, you can see Russia from the shoreline).

Between the stunning hikes, abundant wildflowers, delicious food (fun fact — Rishiri claims the “best” ramen in Japan with a secret local seaweed broth), welcoming locals and gorgeous views, there really is no place like these unique islands.
